Attorney Tawanda Williams began her studies in higher education at State Technical Institute at Memphis where she attended evening classes and worked full-time. She excelled academically, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was honored to be nominated by Instructors and featured in Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. Also, she continued her studies and enrolled in Christian Brothers University's Evening Program where she excelled academically and was the recipient of numerous academic scholarships throughout her tenure. She went on to graduate Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree. She was again nominated by Instructors and featured in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She was privileged to be selected as a School of Business Flag Bearer at her 2001 Commencement Ceremony.
Additionally, Attorney Williams embarked on her lifelong dream of becoming an Attorney and attended Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, MS, where she excelled in Appellate Advocacy and Research and Writing Classes. While attending Law School she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Interned with the Innocence Project, and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During the summer months of Law School, she worked as an Intern with the Shelby County Government's Public Defenders Office. After obtaining her Law License, she was hired as an Assistant Public Defender where she remained for 5 years before opening Tawanda Williams Law Office. Attorney Williams practices Criminal Law and is currently a Criminal Defense Attorney in Memphis, TN.
Attorney Williams is currently a member of the Memphis Bar Association and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She began her legal career with Shelby County Government working in General Sessions and Criminal Courts handling both felony and misdemeanor criminal offenses.
